Nativity Scenes, Gingerbread House& Santa's Sleigh & Reindeer
Throughout December, the San Diego Christmas Center maintains various Christmas displays in Balboa Park.
On the Prado, you can visit a life-sized Santa and his eight reindeer created by Paul Skinner, a local artisan, soaring into the sky, with a red-nosed Rudolph in the lead.
At the Spreckels Organ Pavilion, beautiful Nativity and Biblical scenes created by artist Rudolph Vargas are displayed including a Gingerbread House filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate!
In 2016, a local artist spent nearly a year restoring the figurines in the all the nativity displays, and 2017, fully restore Santa Claus, his sleigh and reindeer!
